Disbursements to your bank account (also known as deposits, or payouts) are approximately 3-7 business days after payment(s) have been settled.
A Disbursement is a batch of payments, and those payments can be a mix of credit-card and ACH payments. Each of those payments have their own settlement timeline.
Every day the payments processor will gather all settled payments and create a disbursement. You will receive an email notification when a disbursement is being processed.
Time to Settle
Each payment method (credit card / ACH) has their own time to settle.
Generally, credit card payments settle within 2 business days
ACH payments generally settle within 3-5 business days.
Once the payments settle then there is the funding (payout) timeline.
Note: Regardless of payout method, a disbursement may be delayed depending on the processing timeframe of the merchant’s bank. This may impact when the funds actually hit your client’s bank account.
Credit Card Payment Funding Timeline
Credit Card transactions are funded the day after the transaction was processed as long as they processed prior to the Batch cut-off (9:30PM EST).
Merchants can usually expect the money to hit their bank account the morning after the deposit. Exact timing on when the money hits the merchant account may be delayed if the merchant’s bank delays the release.
ACH / eCheck Payment Funding Timeline
Standard ACH transactions generally have a 1-5 day delay in hitting the merchants bank account.
Since eCheck transactions can have a 1-5 day delay the tables below indicate what we typically see in Payrix for a one-day delay after the transaction batch date (assuming 100% daily disbursements is setup). Based on this the merchant can expect to see the funds in their bank account the morning after the withdrawal goes out.
Merchant can usually expect the money to hit their bank account two days after the deposit. Exact timing on when the money hits the merchant account may be delayed if the merchant’s bank delays the release.
