Importing historical orders into Vinosmith is straightforward. This feature is recommended only for organizations with manual integration

What You Need to Get Started:

  • The Historical Data that you will be importing into Vinosmith

  • Download a copy of our current template

    • The template can be found at the top of the Import Orders From File page

  • Review the importing instructions on the Import Orders From File page to help familiarize yourself with which items/fields are required to have a successful upload

    • Click on My Account

    • Click on Manage

    • Click on Import Orders From File

Essential Requirements - Data Check

  • Are all items included in these historical orders in Vinosmith? -- All items must be in Vinosmith for the order(s) to be imported.

    • A new item can be created, or a current item can be cloned:

      • To create a new product, click on Products, click on New Product, and complete as needed

      • To clone a current item, our knowledge base article can help walk you through the process -- Create (Clone) Items based on Existing Items

  • Do the primary units (cases or bottles) match? Your Primary Unit mode must match the unit you use in Vinosmith. For example, if your items are in case mode in Vinosmith, the pricing and quantities on the spreadsheet will also need to be in cases.

Next Steps:

  • Complete the template with your historical data and save your file

  • Go to the Import Orders From File page by following these steps:

    • Click on My Account

    • Click on Manage

    • Click on Import Orders From File

  • Select the appropriate parameters for your file

  • Click on the box next to Dry Run? -- this will perform an analysis and notify you of any data issues (this will not import any orders)

    • Please note: the Dry Run? box would need to be unchecked for the data to be imported

  • Click on Import

On the orders import screen, you can configure the options as desired. The Import button is an action menu, and there is an option to save the settings. Later, you can return to the import screen, and there is a "Saved Template" dropdown where you can load the settings.
