How It Works
Once a day, Vinosmith calculates, for each Product, the oldest Purchase Order (for that Product) based on the received date and compares the PO quantity to all Sales since the received date.
This value represents how many days it has been since the oldest PO that has replenished this Product was received.
Example 1
Given that on February 1, a Purchase Order for 100 units was received for Product A.
Given that it is now June 15 and, to date, a total of 56 units have been sold for Product A.
For this product, the Oldest Stock in Days will be (June 15 - February 1) = 134 days.
Example 2
Expanding on the previous example, given the 1st PO received on February 1 for 100 units.
Given that a 2nd PO for this product was received for 60 units on May 18.
Given that it is now June 15 and, to date, a total of 72 units in sales have been made, the Oldest Stock in Days will be (June 15 - May 18) = 28 days
In conclusion: the "clock" restarts every time a PO has been received and the sales quantity exceeds the PO received quantity.
Calculations are not real-time; they are calculated nightly.
