How to Disable Wines

You can disable a Wine so that it is not visible on the Wines tab and accessible in Search; the wine effectively becomes invisible. Disabling items is an Admin-only function.

There are three ways to disable wines:

  1. Disable an item individually in Vinosmith

  2. Use the Batch Edit feature on the Wines page

  3. Batch disable via Excel

Disable an individual item

  1. Go to the Wine tab and click on Edit on the left

  2. Toggle the wines Active? dropdown and choose No

  3. Save your changes.

Disable using the Batch Edit Operation

  1. Go to the Wines tab

  2. Select your filters

  3. Once filtered, scroll down the page. On the left-hand side, under Operations click the blue "batch edit" button

  4. Select Disable from the status dropdown menu

  5. Select the check boxes next to all the wines you wish to change

  6. Click the blue Update button at the top of the screen

Disable via Batch - Excel

  1. Go to Wines tab

  2. On the left-hand side, under properties, click on the red Export: Properties link. This gives you an Excel doc.

You then use Excel filtering to locate the records you want to update. One of the columns in Excel is Disabled? and you set that to a NON-BLANK value, then save the file and upload
